Zafar v Goddard (2010) County Court
This case was one of a number of small claims cases for unpaid rent claimed by the landlord, Mrs Zafar, against a former tenant, Mr Goddard, who had left the property before the end of the fixed term. In the first set of proceedings the tenant counterclaimed for disrepair and raised as a defence that he had never been served with a notice complying with section 48 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987.
