Changes in Section 13 notices

From 11th February 2003 there are changes to the notices issued under the provisions of Section 13 Housing Act 1988 proposing increases in a tenant’s rent (usually referred to as ’Section 13 notices’). The new form (4b) will only apply to tenancies in England, but separate form (4d) has been brought in for tenancies in Wales. Tenancies in Scotland are dealt with in a different way (see www.scotland.gov.uk/housing/leaflets/default.asp) and the relevant form is AT 2.

In England, the form 4a will only be valid until 11th April 2003, after which form 4b will have to be used in England, and form 4d in Wales, where there is also a version in Welsh.

For copies of the forms see successive pages.
