A 2001 edition of the Guardian cited the case of a 91-year old pensioner who thought she had mice in her house. Relatives of Grace Kendal-Ward were baffled about items going missing until they discovered a bed made up in her attic. Police were called and found a young woman in the attic. The intruder had, apparently, been living there for more than nine months.
