I have a question?
If I have a shared house (HMO) fitted for students only which meets all the HMO requirements. Will I need to insulate the floors with sound insulation. According to Approved docs you have to insulate walls and floors and provide a sound test IF you change a property into " Shared Dwellings"

My question to my local building Auth was that none of the rooms have locks and no rooms are independant of the main house, also there is only one leese holder within the group, in affect its a "social unit living in a single dwelling converted into fully shared accomodation".

With this, my local building inspector replied  "I don't Know"?

Has anyone out there got any information on this as sound proofing the floors to my properties would be a costly affair.

Regard
