Title: AST term length Post by: Jane.lane on January 26, 2007, 04:51:21 PM Can someone tell me, can I issue an AST for less than 6 months?
Title: Re: AST term length Post by: Freddy Crabbe on February 16, 2007, 12:19:08 PM Yes but that would have to be specified in the contract.
There is provision in law for a periodic tenancy but the landlord's rights are not as secure as they are with an assured shorthold tenancy. Title: Re: AST term length Post by: www.thelettingagents.co.uk on April 13, 2007, 12:29:35 PM Slight differentt emphais, but similar effect.
You can have an AST for less than 6 months, it will be a fixed term but the courts wont order possession until 6 months are up. Thats the only difference.
