Question Title: Email notice from tenant

Question:
54
One of our tenants wants to give notice to quit by email. Is this valid ?
Answer:
The rules governing a tenant's notice to quit include the requirement that the notice must be in writing. As specified in The Protection from Eviction Act 1977, s5. Email is now an accepted form of writing and so a notice to quit sent by the tenant by email (provided it followed the correct notice periods) would be valid.
