Question Title: Leasehold changes
| Question: 378 |
| We undertake block management for a small number of blocks of flats. Our tenants would like to change insurers and have asked how they do this under their new rights. Can they do this ?
|
| Answer: |
| Yes, they can; this is correct. The Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 allows leasehold tenants a new right to insure other than with the landlord's nominated insurer. There is some excellent information on this new Act, including full details on the new ights introduced by the Act , and the various commencement dates that apply, on the Lease website at: www.lease-advice.org
