Question Title: Court Representation
| Question: 228 |
| Dartford County Court say that I cannot represent my landlord in county court possession action. Is this true ?
|
| Answer: |
| Although in the past it has been common practice for Letting Agents to represent their landlords in possession cases, recently we have come across a few agents who have been refused permission to represent their client. In fact it is at the discretion of the court as to whether or not they will allow Letting Agents rights of audience in a particular case. A letter to your county court, addressed to the Chief Clerk, informing him or her that you are about to start possession proceedings and requesting permission to represent your client is probably the best way to avoid last minute disappointment and delays.
