Question Title: Company Let

Question:
225
If a company let comes to an end but the tenant stays on and the company is still paying the rent, does this affect the Company let?
Answer:
A company let falls outside the Housing Act 1988 and the tenant of such a let has no security of tenure beyond the term specified in the contractual tenancy agreement. As long as the agent is accepting rent from the Company, the tenancy will continue under the same terms as the original agreement as a statutory periodic tenancy. There is nothing to prevent a new tenancy from being drawn up and entered into.
