Question Title: Assured Shorthold Tenancy -length

Question:
18
I have heard that an assured Shorthold tenancy cannot continue beyond three years - is this true ?
Answer:
An assured shorthold tenancy can continue to be renewed indefinitely as no time limit is specified in the Housing Act, however, as with any residential lease, if the agreement is for a fixed term of three years or more it must be made by deed. A lease which is for longer than this period and is not made by deed is void at law.
