Question Title: Parking
| Question: 129 |
| One of my neighbours has complained that my tenant keeps parking in the street outside his house, claiming that the space belongs to him. Given that the street is a public highway, it is my understanding that anyone may park in the street - is this correct ?

| Answer: |
| You are quite correct. Provided that the street is a public highway - i.e.. council owned, then anyone may use the parking space. Sometimes, the local authority will set up a resident's parking scheme which limits the rights of parking to local resident permit holders but again, there is usually no restrictions on who should park where.
