Question Title: AST - Minimum term
| Question: 1 |
| Is there a minimum length of term for an AST ? |
| Answer: |
| Since Feb 28 1997, there is no longer any minimum term of letting for an AST.
Prior to this, there was a restriction that an AST could only be granted for a minimum term of six months.
But, it should be noted that even under the current rules, the landlord letting under a short letting (i.e. less than six months) cannot gain possession of the property through the courts until six months have elapsed since the original tenancy was granted |
